Mats Hummels has challenged Borussia Dortmund to carry their Champions League form into the Bundesliga after they continued their 100% record in Europe on Wednesday night.
Jurgen Klopp's side remain top of Group D thanks to a 4-0 victory over Galatasaray in Istanbul, and Hummels is hopeful of producing similar performances in the league after going five matches without a win.
"It is a little different in the Champions League. We have a little more space for our counter-attacks," the German defender told reporters. "Our aim was to strengthen our defence and not to commit easy mistakes. We were shocking in that respect against Koln. Tonight we were very effective.
"We scored beautiful goals and that made it easier. For us it was important to stay on course in the Champions League, and now we have to get back on track in the Bundesliga after five really bad matches in the league."
Dortmund meet Hannover on Saturday afternoon.
