Thomas Tuchel has claimed that Borussia Dortmund will be punished for not being at their best against SC Paderborn on Wednesday night.
Dortmund come up against a side relegated from the Bundesliga last season as they bid to earn a spot in the third round of the DFB-Pokal, and Tuchel believes that Paderborn will be desperate to cause a shock.
"A lot can happen during 90 minutes. It's our job to steer the game as it's expected," he told reporters in his pre-match press conference.
"It's up to us how deep Paderborn will have to defend. We need a top performance to progress to the next round.
"Since [Stefan] Effenberg is coach at Paderborn the team runs significantly more – they make more sprints and take more shots."
Dortmund have won three successive games in all competitions since the international break.
