Sporting director Michael Zorc has claimed that Borussia Dortmund have no intention of selling Neven Subotic in the January transfer window.
Subotic was a regular in defence under previous head coach Jurgen Klopp, but Thomas Tuchel has often preferred to partner Mats Hummels with Sokratis Papastathopoulos in the early stages of his reign.
Despite reports suggesting that Liverpool boss Klopp is considering a move for the 26-year-old, Zorc insists that he remains a part of the club's plans.
"We are still playing the first half of the season and we are not thinking about letting him go, but naturally we will discuss his situation," Zorc told reporters.
"It's an unusual and difficult situation for him. Neven copes with it professionally, but naturally he is not happy."
Subotic has made just two appearances in all competitions this season.
