Reported Newcastle United transfer target Luuk de Jong is believed to be close to completing a move to German side Borussia Monchengladbach.
The Magpies appeared to be frontrunners for the 21-year-old's signature when they lodged a bid for his signature last week.
However, FC Twente boss Steve McLaren rejected the undisclosed bid and insisted that it would take "stupid money" for him to consider letting the striker leave his club.
Just a few days later though McLaren's asking price, believed to be in the region of £10m, has been met by Monchengladbach, according to reports in Germany.
De Jong is now expected to discuss terms with Monchengladbach tomorrow.
