Borussia Monchengladbach defender Martin Stranzl has spoken of his delight at having agreed a one-year extension to his contract with the club.
Stranzl had already put his retirement plans on hold to take part in the current campaign, but he has now chosen to extend his career even further by signing a new deal that will see him remain at the club until the end of the 2014-15 season.
"I feel very happy with Borussia and have always said that I would like to continue playing for as long as my body plays ball, for as long as the club would like me to play and while my family are happy here," the 33-year-old Austrian is quoted as saying by PA.
"That is the case and therefore I'm delighted to be able to play another year with Borussia."
Stranzl has made 100 appearances for the club since joining from Spartak Moscow in January 2011.
