Wigan Athletic beat Bournemouth 1-0 in the FA Cup third-round replay, with Mauro Boselli scoring the goal.

Wigan Athletic head into the fourth round of the FA Cup after beating League One Bournemouth 1-0.

Wigan took the lead after 18 minutes through Mauro Boselli, who struck from 20 yards out.

Bournemouth had the chance to equalise instantly when Eunan O'Kane played Wes Thomas in, though the striker couldn't get his shot away.

Thomas and O'Kane linked up well again on 43 minutes, resulting in the Northern Irishman hitting his shot off the post.

O'Kane found himself in on goal after some confusion in the Latics' defence, though Roberto Martinez's side recovered well.

Josh McQuoid almost brought the sides level, putting his effort inches wide from a long throw.

Harry Arter forced a fine save after 68 minutes, cannoning the ball at Ali Al-Habsi.
