Sports Mole previews Saturday's Championship clash between in-form Bournemouth and struggling Brighton at the Goldsands Stadium.

Bournemouth will be looking to maintain their remarkable recent run of form when they host Brighton & Hove Albion at the Goldsands Stadium this Saturday.

The Cherries go into the match having won their last five games in all competitions, including a record 8-0 drubbing of Birmingham City at St Andrew's last weekend.

Eddie Howe will, of course, not be expecting a repeat result of that again this season, but their midweek victory over Premier League outfit West Bromwich Albion in the League Cup will give him the confidence that his side can beat anyone in the Championship on their day.

Unsurprisingly having not lost since September, Bournemouth have shot up the table and enter gameweek 15 in fourth place, just two points off the league leaders.

Their eight-goal haul last weekend also ensures that they are now the league's top scorers, Callum Wilson leading the way with 11 goals in all competitions since his summer move.

Things are tight at the other end of the field too, with Bournemouth having won their last three home league games without conceding a single goal.

Howe made no fewer than 10 changes to his side for the midweek fixture, but despite the victory he is likely to recall a number of players who featured in the humiliation of Birmingham.

Brighton fans must be slightly concerned of being put to the sword themselves given the form they are in, with the Seagulls having struggled to adapt to life under Sami Hyypia.

They are hovering just two points above the relegation zone with 13 points from their 14 outings so far, and could end the weekend in the bottom three should results go against them.

That is a far cry from their playoff campaigns of recent seasons, but their failure to pick up victories - they have won just twice and drawn seven times this season - has cost them dearly so far.

It is now 10 matches since Brighton picked up a league victory, while they have drawn six of their last seven outings in the division.

There was more bad news during the week as they were dumped out of the League Cup at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur, although if they are to be dragged into a relegation battle then the lack of cup distractions could prove to be a blessing in disguise.

Hyypia is expected to recall a number of players to the side having made changes for the midweek fixture, with David Stockdale and Chris O'Grady among those likely to return.
