Sports Mole previews Saturday's Championship fixture between Bournemouth and Queens Park Rangers, including predictions and team news.

Bournemouth will be hoping to maintain their unbeaten start to the Championship season when they host Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

The west London side come into the game having not won since the opening weekend but are still only two points off the top six.

Match preview

It was a 2-0 win against Nottingham Forest that got QPR's season off to the perfect start, but since then they have lost to Coventry City and drawn with Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday.

A point was rescued last time out at Hillsborough by Macauley Bonne's debut goal in the sixth minute of second half stoppage time.

It was the fifth away game in a row that Mark Warburton's side had failed to win – in fact, they have won just twice on the road in 2020.

Furthermore, QPR have not won away at Bournemouth since December 2001, although it is worth noting that the two sides have rarely been in the same division since then.

Current Cherries manager Jason Tindall was in the starting XI for the south coast side that day, along with his predecessor Eddie Howe.

Tindall's start to life in the Vitality Stadium dugout could not have gone much better, as he has guided Bournemouth to three wins and a draw in the Championship.

They went into the international break with their most convincing victory yet as Jefferson Lerma's opener and Dan Gosling's second half brace defeated Coventry City 3-1.

The team's impressive form earned Tindall a manager of the month nomination for September, but he eventually lost out to Reading's Veljko Paunovic.

Team News

David Brooks withdrew from Wales's squad because of injury ahead of their game with Bulgaria, but he may be back in contention for Bournemouth at the weekend.

Lloyd Kelly is nearing a return following a hamstring injury, but this game is likely to come too soon for him, meaning Jason Tindall may well name the same XI that defeated Coventry a fortnight ago.

QPR made three new signings in the international break – Albert Adomah, Chris Willock and Charlie Kelman – all of whom will be pushing to break into the starting lineup.

Fellow new arrival Macauley Bonne may earn his first start in blue and white hoops after his goal off the bench against Sheffield Wednesday.

Bournemouth possible starting lineup:
Begovic; Stacey, Mepham, S. Cook, Rico, Smith; Lerma, L. Cook, Gosling; Solanke, Surridge

Queens Park Rangers possible starting lineup:
Dieng; Kakay, Dickie, Barbet, Wallace; Amos, Cameron; Osayi-Samuel, Chair, Willock, Bonne

We say: Bournemouth 2-1 Queens Park Rangers

QPR's recent transfer business has made them a much better side, but the new arrivals may take a couple of weeks to get up to speed. Bournemouth have started life back in the Championship very well and will fancy their chances of picking up a third straight home victory here.
