Sports Mole looks ahead to Friday night's Championship game as league leaders Bournemouth host fellow promotion hopefuls Watford.

The Championship's top-two scorers meet on Friday night as league leaders Bournemouth welcome fellow promotion hopefuls Watford to the Goldsands Stadium.

Just four points separate the top six, with Watford hoping to close in on the top two with a third consecutive victory.

The Hornets have scored 12 goals in their two most recent victories, dispatching Charlton Athletic and Blackpool at home to retain their playoff place.

Last weekend's 7-2 victory at Blackpool saw Slavisa Jokanovic's side roar back from two goals down at the break to ensure that rock-bottom Blackpool didn't pick up their first away win of the season.

Odion Ighalo scored four against the Tangerines to make it six goals in two games; he now has as many goals as Troy Deeney this season with 11.

There has been a new arrival as well in the last week, with Ben Watson switching struggling Wigan Athletic for the playoff chasers. He made his first appearance from the bench at half time against Blackpool and could make his full debut on the South Coast.

Watford's recent goal glut means that they now have 56 for the season, but they are not the top scorers for the season as Bournemouth have 57 in their 27 games.

Eddie Howe's side are only top of the table ahead of Derby County because of their league-best goal difference, but they are struggling for wins of late.

After surprisingly losing at Leeds United a week ago in their last league game, the Cherries were beaten 2-1 at Premier League side Aston Villa in the fourth round of the FA Cup, making it three defeats in four games.

Howe made eight changes to the side that started against Leeds at Villa Park, and the likes of Callum Wilson, Matt Ritchie and Simon Francis should all return against Watford.

The Cherries' recent record against Watford is poor, with just one win in 13 games against the Hornets. The reverse fixture was a 1-1 draw at Vicarage Road in September.
