Eddie Howe is reportedly looking to make AS Monaco striker Dimitar Berbatov his first summer signing at Bournemouth.
The Cherries, who gained promotion to the top flight earlier this month, are said to have made the Bulgarian their number-one target heading into their maiden Premier League campaign.
It is claimed by The Express that Bournemouth are hoping to capitalise after the Ligue 1 outfit were punished for breaching Financial Fair Play rules.
Berbatov's future is said to be up in the air as a result of the sanction, and Howe is rumoured to be lining up a bid ahead of the reopening of the transfer window next month.
Jermain Defoe has also been linked with a switch to the Goldsands Stadium in recent weeks.
