Bournemouth have announced that Yann Kermorgant has signed a new two-year contract with the club.
The 33-year-old has been a key member of the squad since joining from Charlton Athletic in January 2014, helping the Cherries to win promotion to the Premier League last season.
Kermorgant has admitted that he is pleased to have now secured his future at Dean Court.
"I am delighted to carry on with Bournemouth and stay here," he told the Bournemouth Daily Echo. "I'm not saying I was going but maybe it was possible when we were in the market for another striker or two. I am pleased to have extended my contract for another year.
"I had two targets last season. My first one was to get promoted, which we did, and the second one was to get another contract. Unfortunately, it didn't happen for me in terms of the contract in the summer so I am delighted it has now been sorted.
"The new deal gives me more freedom and confidence in myself and more security for my family. Maybe it affected me during the summer because it didn't happen then. Now it is done, I can focus on doing my best and getting back in the team."
Kermorgant has scored 27 goals in 60 appearances for Bournemouth.
