Thiago Silva believes that Brazil's penalty shootout win against Chile in the last 16 of the World Cup last night was "preordained".
Julio Cesar saved two penalty spot kicks before Gonzalo Jara hit the post, but Thiago Silva was never in doubt.
"Before the penalties Julio said, 'Hit them with confidence and I'll stop three'," Silva said.
"It was preordained. Chile were a great team but we found strength. The most important thing is that the group is united, independent of any mistakes."
Brazil will now play Colombia in the quarter-finals on Friday.
