Gillingham manager Justin Edinburgh is among the leading contenders to take over at Brentford, according to a report.
The 45-year-old has guided the Gills up to third place in League One, while also earning promotion to the Football League with Newport County in 2013.
According to The Sun, Edinburgh could take up the Brentford job next summer, with stand-in boss Lee Carsley unwilling to take on the role full time.
Carsley, who replaced Marinus Dijkhuizen at the Griffin Park helm, was voted the Championship Manager of the Month for October after guiding the Bees to four straight wins.
Brentford are currently 11th in the Championship table, having recovered from a slow start to the campaign.
