Oscar Garcia: 'We should have won'

Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Oscar Garcia believes that his side did not deserve to lose to Wigan Athletic on Saturday afternoon.

Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Oscar Garcia has rued his side's profligacy in the 2-1 home defeat to Wigan Athletic, which saw the away team take all three points from just two shots on target.

Garcia said that with any justice his side, who saw 63% of the ball and had 23 shots at goal, would have taken the three points.

"When you have more than 20 chances and you score only one goal and the opposition had only two and they scored only two goals, then you can explain the game with this aspect of football," he told The Argus.

"I don't know [how many they should have scored]. One more than two to win the game to be sure because we fully deserved to win. We had 60-65% of possession, we had more than 20 chances to score.

"We dominated the whole game. In the first half we played the best game of the season but if you don't score it is impossible to win."

Brighton, in eighth, are now four points off sixth-placed Reading in the Championship.
