Steve Cotterill has urged his Bristol City side to take more of their chances when they dominate games, despite seeing his team beat Gillingham 3-1.
The Robins kept their place at the top of League One thanks to a brace from Matt Smith and Scott Wagstaff's second-half strike at the Priestfield Stadium.
Cotterill was also quick to praise the impact of Smith since he moved to the Robins on loan from Fulham.
He told reporters: "We played well, passed it well and thoroughly deserved the win. With the time span we've had to play these games in the lads have been great.
"When the lads are that dominant, it would be nice to take a few more of those chances
"People can make early judgments on players. Matt had only just arrived and isn't fully fit. I'm delighted for him."
Cotterill's men now face a trip to Doncaster Rovers in the third round of the FA Cup next weekend.
