Bristol Rovers have been hit with an injury blow with the news that striker Matt Harrold will be sidelined for the remainder of the season.
The 28-year-old, who suffered a knee injury during Rovers' 4-0 defeat to Gillingham at the weekend, left the ground on crutches and has since learned from a scan that his League Two season is over.
"It's a real blow to lose him," manager Mark McGhee told BBC Radio Bristol. "I had high hopes for Matt getting 20-plus goals this season. Just because of the poor start we had, those hopes didn't change."
Harrold, who finished last season as the club's top scorer with 18 goals, netted one goal in six outings for his side this season.
