Bristol Rovers have registered just their second win in six Conference Premier games with a 1-0 victory away at AFC Telford United.
After having the better of the first half, Ollie Clarke struck five minutes after the break to help his side into fourth place in the table.
Jake Gosling almost got Rovers off to the perfect start when chasing down a miscued back pass, but, despite beating Freddy Hall to the ball, he could only direct his shot wide.
Ellis Harrison and Clarke also had chances that were blazed off target, while defender Tom Parkes failed to do any better when trying his luck from 40 yards.
Some fine approach play from Andy Monkhouse set up Lee Mansell, but, after his shot also failed to trouble Hall, Telford managed to reach half time without conceding to Darrell Clarke's team.
However, their resistance was broken soon after the restart as Clarke gave Rovers the advantage when he received the ball from Gosling to fire a low shot into the corner of the net.
Matty Taylor wasted a chance to double their lead when blazing over before Telford offered more impetus in the final third, only for Godfrey Poku to lash over from inside the penalty area.
Monkhouse was sent off for Rovers with three minutes remaining, but Rovers held off some sustained pressure from Telford to strengthen their challenge near the top of the standings.
