Burnley have confirmed that striker Lukas Jutkiewicz will be out for a "lengthy spell" after damaging cruciate ligaments in his knee.
The 26-year-old caught his studs in the turf in the latter stages of Saturday's 2-1 win at Bristol City.
Jutkiewicz is the fifth Burnley player to suffer a cruciate injury in 18 months.
Clarets boss Sean Dyche told the club website: "We simply can't fathom out why we're having such bad luck. We have looked at everything we do, as a club, because that's important.
"But when you dig into the detail the players are all wearing different boots, the injuries have happened home and away and, in some cases through innocuous challenges, including Lukas's, which was a twist on the turf."
Jutkiewicz's injury means that Burnley have lost three strikers in a week after the departures of Jelle Vossen and Marvin Sordell.
