Burnley manager Sean Dyche has confirmed that Steven Defour will miss Saturday's Premier League clash against Everton due to a hamstring injury.
The 28-year-old picked up the problem during the Clarets' 3-1 defeat to Southampton last weekend.
Dyche does not expect the Belgium international to face a lengthy spell on the sidelines, but he will not be available for the visit of Everton at Turf Moor.
"Steven Defour has a hamstring [injury], but it's not as bad as what it could have been, which is good news," Dyche said in today's press conference.
"He won't be fit for this weekend, he definitely won't be, but we're thinking he will be a lot quicker than what we first thought, so we're pleased overall. You never know with a hamstring, we've had it scanned and it's not as deep or as big a problem as we thought it might be."
Burnley are currently 14th in the Premier League table after picking up seven points from eight games.
