Danny Ings has expressed his delight at opening his account for England's Under-21s.
The Burnley striker found the net twice on his full debut as San Marino were swatted away 9-0 in Shrewsbury for an U21 European Championship qualifier.
"It means the world to me to make my full debut for the England Under-21s and to cap it all off with a couple of goals means so much," the 21-year-old told Burnley's website.
"For my family and me, it's one of the biggest achievements I'll ever have.
"I knew there were going to be opportunities for me tonight to get a goal on my debut and I am glad I took them."
Ings has now scored 16 goals in 20 appearances for club and country this season. He is one of only three players in double figures in the Championship, where Burnley sit two points clear at the top of the table.
