Burnley defender James Tarkowski has been hit with a three-match ban for violent conduct.
The 25-year-old was charged by the Football Association on Monday following an off-the-ball incident with Brighton & Hove Albion's Glenn Murray.
In the second half of Saturday's goalless draw at the Amex Stadium, Tarkowski appeared to elbow his opponent in the ribs while the pair were in the penalty area.
After admitting to the charge, the defender argued against the length of ban, but his efforts came to nothing as an independent regulatory commission agreed that a three-match suspension was fair.
Tarkowski, who has started all 18 of Burnley's Premier League games, will miss matches against Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Huddersfield Town.
Sean Dyche's side sit sixth in the league table.
