Ross Wallace has said that Burnley's gaze is on catching Leicester City and winning the Championship, not over their shoulders at the chasing pack for automatic promotion.
The Clarets are currently seven points clear of Derby in third and can extend the gap to double figures if they win at Birmingham City tonight.
The gap is about the same at eight points to Leicester at the top and because of this, Wallace says that Burnley are looking up.
"For me personally I think 'why don't we catch Leicester?," the Burnley Express quotes winger Wallace as saying.
"They might drop points and start to get a bit edgy and if we keep winning games who knows? We can be looking up instead of looking behind us.
"We've still got to play them at home so there could be a few twists and turns in the season."
Wallace has been troubled by injury this season and made just three starts for Burnley in the league.
