Michael Duff has reportedly opened talks with Burnley about a new contract.
The central defender has made 21 appearances in the Premier League this season, but he failed to help the Clarets stay in the top flight of English football and was expected to leave the club.
However, the Daily Star claims that Burnley are willing to offer Duff a new one-year contract to take him into a 12th season with the club.
The 37-year-old, who joined the club from Cheltenham in 2004, will be given a testimonial in August before their return to the Championship.
It was confirmed on Tuesday that Ross Wallace would be leaving Burnley when his contract expires in the summer.
