Burton Albion have made it through to the second round of the FA Cup by beating Hereford United 2-0.
Hereford created the first chance of the match when Adam McGurk found himself through on goal, but keeper Rhys Evans was equal to his attempt.
They continued to create chances throughout the half, with Chris Hussey and Matthew Palmer both firing wide of the goal.
In the 37th minute, the home side made their dominance count. Hussey worked the ball to McGurk on the edge of the box, before the striker fired his effort into the top corner.
They came close to doubling their lead before half time, but Philip Edwards put his shot wide of the post.
After the break, Dominic Collins and Daniel Leadbitter had good opportunities to score for the home side but they were wasteful with their attempts on goal.
Josh O'Keefe came close to a leveller for the visitors, but Dean James saved his powerful effort.
With six minutes left to play, Hereford sealed their place in the next round when Palmer fired a low shot from outside the box into the bottom right corner.
