Cagliari have sealed a vital win at the bottom of Serie A by beating 10-man Sassuolo 2-1 thanks to goals from Luca Rossettini and Duje Cop.
The result means that the Isolani climb out of the relegation zone, leapfrogging Chievo Verona.
The first real chance of the match fell to Sassuolo's Nicola Sansone, but his shot went high and wide of the goal.
Cagliari went in front when Joao Pedro's corner was nodded in by Rossettini from close range.
Sassuolo responded well and came close through Domenico Berardi, who curled inches wide from a free kick.
After the break, good work from Francesco Magnanelli allowed Sime Vrsaljko to have a shot, but his effort went wide.
The away side equalised when Francesco Acerbi slotted home, but Cop restored Cagliari's advantage with a neat finish just two minutes later.
Acerbi then received a second yellow card to compound Sassuolo's misery as the hosts secured a crucial three points.
