Cambridge United have completed the signing of Danny Carr on a two-year contract.
The 21-year-old had been a free agent for a short period of time following his recent release by Championship side Huddersfield Town, for whom he made two appearances.
"We are delighted to be able to bring Daniel to the club at this exciting time. He is a player of enormous as yet unfulfilled potential, he is very quick and can play right across the frontline," manager Richard Money told the club's official website.
"Daniel's determination to sign for us when he had a number of other opportunities has been refreshing and underlines the ambition we are showing in our recruitment this summer.
"As well as being committed towards developing players from our own academy, Daniel's signing also shows our determination to continue to bring young players with his potential to the club."
Carr, who was once linked with moves to Liverpool and Chelsea, is the seventh player to have joined the U's this summer.
