Cambuur moved level on points with three other clubs at the top of the Eredivisie table courtesy of a 4-1 thrashing of struggling Dordrecht this evening.
Daniel de Ridder started the rout in the first minute and Bartholomew Ogbeche added a brace as Henk de Jong's side continued their strong start to the season.
Former Birmingham City and Wigan Athletic winger De Ridder's first goal for Cambuur since signing for them on a free transfer in the summer immediately put Dordrecht, who have not won since the opening day of the campaign, on the back foot.
They soon fell further behind when Ogbeche netted his fourth of the season on seven minutes.
Dordrecht survived until the break without conceding again, but a quickfire double between minutes 51 and 57 put Cambuur four clear as Ogbeche and then Sander van de Streek found the target.
Rihairo Meulens scored a consolation for the visitors five minutes from time, but they are now seven games without victory, while Cambuur have joined pacesetters PSV Eindhoven, Ajax and PEC Zwolle on 15 points.
