Vitesse made it back-to-back wins in the Eredivisie with a 2-0 win over Cambuur this evening to leapfrog their opponents into eighth in the division.
Goals from Valeri Kazaishvili and Denis Oliynyk were enough for the visitors who continued on from their impressive victory over Ajax last weekend.
In blizzard-like conditions at Cambuur Stadion, Bertrand Traore almost opened the scoring on the half-hour mark, but his effort cannoned back off the post, before Kazaishvili netted minutes later.
Traore was then denied by a good save from Cambuur goalkeeper Leonard Nienhuis as Vitesse looked to add to their lead at the end of the first period.
Vitesse eventually did extend their advantage in the second half when Oliynk reacted quickest to tap into an empty net on the artificial pitch.
