Russell Slade has insisted that he will still be Cardiff City manager next season.
The Bluebirds lost 3-0 to Bolton Wanderers in the Championship, prompting criticism from the club's supporters.
"There's a lot of confidence in what we are trying to do," Slade told BBC Sport. "We are trying to build something here, but today is a bad day at the office.
"Obviously you want your fans to be behind the football club. That's important. You want everybody pulling in the right direction.
"That's something I can't control. People are entitled to their own opinion and that's the way it is and sometimes this job is a difficult one when things don't go well."
Former Leeds United midfielder Bruno Ribeiro has been tipped to take over as head coach next season.
