Cardiff City manager Russell Slade has admitted that the club are going through a "period of transition" after a 1-1 draw at Sheffield Wednesday left them 15th in the Championship table.
Will Keane's second-half penalty rescued a point for Wednesday after Kenwyne Jones had earlier given Cardiff the lead and the Welsh outfit are now winless in five games.
Slade told reporters: "We're going through a period of transition and stability and I know people don't want to hear those words but it's the way it is, it's a fact, that's what we're going through.
"And the hierarchy are absolutely aware of what we're trying to do. We don't want to get into a situation where in nine months' time we've got sanctions against us when Financial Fair Play kicks in. We're trying to deal with that now."
Cardiff, who are 15th in the Championship table, host Brighton & Hove Albion on Tuesday night.
