Cardiff City forward Tommy Smith has admitted that he is under no illusions that he will walk into the Bluebirds side.
The 32-year-old, who signed for the Championship club from Queens Park Rangers last month, was handed his first start in Cardiff's 4-2 defeat to Bristol City on Saturday.
"The Cardiff squad is really strong and that's why I am here," Wales Online quotes Smith as saying.
"I came here to be challenged and work for my place and that's certainly going to be the case. There is an awful lot of talent here. We have to push on from the defeat at Ashton Gate."
Cardiff, who have begun playing in a new red strip, are yet to win a game this season after recording one draw and a defeat.
