Steven Caulker: 'Point gives us fighting chance'

Cardiff City defender Steven Caulker believes that his side have a chance of staying in the Premier League following their last-gasp draw with West Bromwich Albion.

Cardiff City defender Steven Caulker believes that Mats Moller Daehli's stoppage-time goal to earn his side a point in their game with West Bromwich Albion has given them a fighting chance of survival.

The Bluebirds fell two goals behind early on but battled back to even the score in the second half, until Thievy Bifouma looked to have won the game for the Baggies in then 90th minute.

However, Cardiff came back once more when Moller Daehli secured the draw with the last kick of the game to deny Pepe Mel's side the win at The Hawthorns.

Caulker told BBC Sport: "When West Brom scored their third, it was difficult to take because it is not the first time we have conceded a late goal this season.

"But I'm proud of how the lads battled back and got the equaliser. It gives us a fighting chance of staying in the Premier League.

"I'm pleased with spirit showed but got to start games better if we want to stay in the Premier League. We have six cup finals to go."

Cardiff are 18th in the Premier League, three points adrift of safety.
