Brentford came from two goals down to beat Premier League newcomers Cardiff City 3-2 in an entertaining match at Griffin Park.
Frazier Campbell, Craig Bellamy and Craig Noone terrorised the League One side in the opening exchanges and it was not long before they opened the scoring.
Campbell laid the ball out wide and the subsequent cross was nodded home by Kim Bo-Kyung.
The South Korean midfielder soon turned provider, as he passed the ball to an unmarked Campbell, who kept his cool to slot it home.
Brentford struggled to contain their Premier League opponents, with Campbell particularly causing problems with his pace.
However, the Bees were given a lifeline with a minute remaining in the first half. Conor McAlney, on loan from Everton, cut inside from the left flank and bent a shot into the far corner.
McAlney drew his side level just after the break when he raced away from the defence and slotted an almost identical finish beyond the reach of Joe Lewis.
With the match approaching an end, Brentford sealed a remarkable comeback as Paul Hayes pounced to punish Lewis's mistake.
