Cardiff City came from two goals down to earn a draw in a six-goal thriller against Wolfsburg, a week before they begin their quest to regain their Premier League status.
The Bundesliga outfit were ahead inside four minutes when Marcel Schafer headed past David Marshall.
By the 27th minute, Wolfsburg had threatened to put the game beyond the Bluebirds when Kevin de Bruyne's long-range strike proved too much for Marshall.
However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side bounced back with two goals in the final minutes before half time.
First, Peter Whittingham got on the scoresheet with a well-taken free-kick from 30 yards out which found the bottom corner of the net.
Then, in stoppage time, Fabio's strong run and cutback helped set up Nicky Maynard, who brought the Welsh club back on level terms.
Just before the hour mark, Cardiff took the lead when Adam Le Fondre's free kick was headed onto the post by Kenwyne Jones, and Kim Bo-Kyung was on-hand to tap in the rebound.
Cardiff's hopes of a European top-flight scalp were dashed when Ivica Olic equalised for the German outfit with seven minutes remaining.
