Cardiff City have cut short Alex Revell's loan stint with Wigan Athletic.
The 32-year-old had been due to remain with the League One side until the middle of next month.
However, having scored once in seven appearances for the Latics, the striker has now been recalled by his parent club.
"I want to thank everyone at the club, the fans and all the players, who made me so welcome," Revell told Wigan's official website.
"It's a great club, it's been great to me and I hope you get the reward of promotion this season."
Revell joined Cardiff from Rotherham United last January for an undisclosed fee.
