Castleford Tigers ran in six tries on their way to a 30-16 victory over Salford Red Devils in the Super League this evening.
The scores were shared around as the Tigers responded to their rout by Hull Kingston Rovers last weekend with a good team performance.
Conversions added by Luke Gale to tries from Justin Carney and Liam Finn put Castleford 12 points ahead within the opening quarter of an hour.
Salford's Tommy Lee pulled one back before Michael Shenton restored the Tigers' cushion on 23 minutes, and Castleford went further ahead through Scott Wheeldon's effort on the stroke of the break.
James Clare got his name on the scoresheet and Carney doubled his personal tally in the second period as the hosts stormed into an unassailable lead which rendered Ben Jones-Bishop's 71st-minute reply for Salford a mere consolation.
Despite the result, the Red Devils remain one point above Castleford in the middle of the early-season table.
