Catania have earned their first point of the Serie A season with a goalless draw with Parma at the Stadio Angelo Massimino.
Parma had never won in Catania and were nearly behind inside a minute to the Elefantini, with Gonzalo Bergessio turning Jaroslav Plasil's cross just beyond the post.
Both sides struggled to create clear-cut opportunities on a wet pitch, which was made treacherous by a heavy thunderstorm early this morning.
Antonio Cassano did look lively in patches for Parma in the final third, with his instinctive snapshot blocked by a strong challenge from Nicolas Spolli.
Late on Roberto Donadoni's side looked the more likely as Amauri forced Mariano Andujar into a strong stop with an acrobatic volley, but ultimately neither team were able to break the deadlock.
