Celtic were unable to find the breakthrough in the first half of their Champions League second qualifying-round clash with Icelandic side KR Reykjavik this evening.
The visitors were inches away from taking the lead inside 10 minutes when Kris Commons was found by Leigh Griffiths before firing a 25-yard volley against the crossbar.
Commons threatened again two minutes later when he had another go from distance, but this time Stefan Logi Magnusson was across to turn it wide.
Celtic came close once more from the resulting corner, this time Efe Ambrose seeing his effort from the centre of the box cleared off the line by Aron Bjarki Josepsson.
KR's first opening came midway through the opening period as Baldur Sigurdsson slid the ball through for Gary Martin, but the English striker was denied by compatriot Fraser Forster.
Neither side could break the deadlock before the interval in what is Ronny Deila's first competitive match in charge of the Bhoys.
