A 95th-minute strike from Malmo has left their Champions League playoff tie with Celtic hanging in the balance after the Scottish champions won the first leg 3-2 in Glasgow this evening.

The hosts raced into an early two-goal lead, with Leigh Griffiths opening the scoring inside three minutes before Nir Bitton doubled that advantage shortly afterwards.

Jo Inge Berget pulled one back for the visitors after the interval, but Griffiths nodded home his second of the night to restore his side's two-goal lead 10 minutes later.

However, there was to be late drama as Berget slammed home a second away goal with the final kick of the match to leave the tie on a knife edge.

CELTIC

Goal

Craig Gordon: Rarely called into action in the first half, making just one stop low to his left. Nothing he could do about either goal, both of which were emphatic finishes by Berget. (6/10)

Defence

Mikael Lustig: Enjoyed a decent game on the right flank, coming forward to good effect and providing the cross that caused problems in the build-up to his side's third goal. Ended up having to be stretchered off due to a hamstring injury, though, and was visibly upset by that. (7/10)

Dedryck Boyata: Solid performance at the back, keeping the likes of Djurdic quiet for the vast majority of the game. Not at fault for either goal. (6/10)

Virgil van Dijk: Made a few important clearances and interceptions inside his own box, but will be disappointed with his role for the late goal having gone for the same ball as his teammate. (6/10)

Emilio Izaguirre: Not entirely convincingly defensively, with one occasion in particular seeing him dive in and miss the ball, allowing Tinnerholm in behind. (5/10)

Midfield

James Forrest: The only change to the Celtic team from the weekend and may have done enough to keep his place. Caused the Malmo full-backs problems during a bright and energetic display. (7/10)

Scott Brown: As ever, was involved in a couple of heated exchanges with the opposition, but always seemed to be in control of his temper. Flew under the radar for much of the game, but did make a couple of decent breaks forward. (6/10)

Stefan Johansen: Picked out a beauty of a first-time pass to claim an assist for the opening goal and also provided the corner for the second. However, he did miss a good chance of his own to make it 3-0 10 minutes later. (7/10)

Nir Bitton: Got Celtic's second goal courtesy of a header from close range which he attacked well. Had a couple of dodgy moments in the second half, but on the whole a positive display. (7/10)

Stuart Armstrong: A real handful for Tinnerholm to deal with, cutting inside to great effect on a number of occasions in the first half. Played his part in the opening goal too. (7/10)

Attack

Leigh Griffiths: Two goals for the striker, both of which he took well. The first demonstrated good composure inside the box, while the second was all about his predatory instincts as he pounced on a defensive error. Will continue to be chosen ahead of Ciftci if he keeps up this form. (8/10)

Substitutes

Gary Mackay-Steven: Came on for Armstrong during the second half but was virtually anonymous during his time on the field. (6/10)

Nadir Ciftci: On for Griffiths with 15 minutes remaining, but his most notable involvement was picking up a late yellow card. (6/10)

Efe Ambrose: Replaced the injured Lustig and failed to clear the late corner that led to Berget's goal, going for the same ball as Van Dijk. (5/10)

MALMO

Goal

Johan Wiland: Should have done much better for the second goal, failing to get past Griffiths to claim a corner which arrived inside his six-yard box. Not much he could have done about either of the other goals, although he will be unhappy to have been lobbed with a header for the third. (5/10)

Defence

Anton Tinnerholm: An evening to forget for the Swede. Struggled to deal with Armstrong at times and committed a monumental error when he failed to clear a cross into the box, allowing Griffiths to nod home a crucial third goal for the visitors. (4/10)

Kari Arnason: Given the runaround by Griffiths a bit. Nowhere to be seen as the striker found space inside the box for his early opener and failed to truly shackle him for the vast majority of the contest. (5/10)

Rasmus Bengtsson: Another fairly poor display from a Malmo defender. Caught out of position on more than one occasion and was also beaten in the air by Bitton for Celtic's second goal. (5/10)

Victor Yotun: His side's best defender on the night, although that isn't saying too much. Did most of his best work going forward, with a couple of dangerous deliveries into the box causing Celtic problems. (6/10)

Midfield

Vladimir Rodic: Looked the most likely to make something happen for his side for long spells, but his attacking influence was limited by the amount of tracking back he had to do. The only player to test Gordon in the first half. (6/10)

Oscar Lewicki: Struggled in the first half due to being outnumbered in the middle of the park, but settled into the game more as it progressed. (6/10)

Erdal Rakip: Not afraid to get stuck in, but unable to exert any real influence in midfield before being taken off. (5/10)

Jo Inge Berget: Scored two goals against his former club that are likely to prove crucial if Malmo make it through. The first was a sweetly-struck volley from a tight angle that left Gordon no chance, while he lashed the second home from close range. (8/10)

Attack

Magnus Eikrem: Started the game up front but was moved deeper to give Malmo another man in midfield. Picked up the assist for Berget's first, although that was all about the finish. (6/10)

Nikola Djurdic: Showed glimpses here and there, but was unable to get into the game for any prolonged period of time. Did force Gordon into a decent stop in the second half, however. (6/10)

Substitutes

Felipe Carvalho: Was in the mix as the ball was knocked down inside the box for Berget to fire into the roof of the net late on. (6/10)

Tobias Sana: Replaced Rakip with nine minutes of normal time remaining and didn't have enough time to make a major impact. (6/10)
