Celtic are reportedly planning to make contact with Barnsley regarding a potential deal for Callum Styles.
Several players have deputised in the left-back position this season, resulting in manager Ange Postecoglou considering his options ahead of the January window.
According to The Sun, Styles has been placed on Celtic's shortlist after making a sustained impact for Barnsley in the Championship.
Styles, who can play on the left-hand side of defence and midfield as well as in the centre of the pitch, has made 21 appearances in the second tier this season.
The report suggests that the 21-year-old has admirers North of the border, with an approach potentially being made at some point next month.
Styles still has over 18 months remaining on his contract at Oakwell, a scenario which may result in Barnsley retaining the services of one of their key men until the summer. body check tags ::
