Cesena picked up an important point in their fight for Serie A survival with a goalless draw at home to Palermo.
The best chance of a scrappy opening half fell the way of Cesena defender Gabriele Perico, who saw his shot saved by Stefano Sorrentino shortly before the break.
Cesena continued to apply pressure after the restart as Gregoire Defre shot narrowly wide, while the home side pumped multiple crosses into the opposition box that were easily dealt with by Sorrentino.
Both sides huffed and puffed as they looked for a winning goal during the final stages, but a lack of imagination in attack saw the game end without a goal.
