Millwall lead Charlton Athletic in the Championship this afternoon after 45 minutes at The Valley.
Scott McDonald got the only goal of the half via a big deflection off Dorian Dervite, after Bradley Pritchard gave the ball away on the halfway line.
Neither goalkeeper had really been trouble in the opening 30 minutes, despite some neat passing from the hosts, who kept coming unstuck in the final third.
Then against the run of play, McDonald picked up a loose Pritchard pass and played a one-two with Martyn Waghorn, before collecting the ball again when Waghorm was brought down and firing the visitors ahead, thanks to the helpful deflection.
Charlton tried to respond immediately, but apart from a couple of runs into the Millwall penalty area, the away defence continued to be untroubled and went in at the break in the lead.
