Charlton Athletic manager Jose Riga has shrugged off the controversy surrounding his recent appointment and insisted that he is focused on the task in hand.
The former Standard Liege coach, who replaced the ousted Chris Powell earlier this week, was given a lukewarm reception during his side's 0-0 draw with Huddersfield Town this evening.
"That's the story of football, it's nothing new. I have so much respect for the ex-manager but it's football," he told reporters after the game.
"The reaction from the crowd for my players was the most important thing. I am not here for me, I am here for Charlton. Often when something is new people suspect it, but I will just focus on my qualities."
Charlton remain bottom of the Championship following the draw, three points from safety with several games in hand on the teams around them.
