Chelsea Women welcome Servette Chenois to Kingsmeadow on Thursday in the Women's Champions League, with the hosts looking to replicate their dominant performance in Switzerland last week.

Servette are still looking for their first goal and points of the group stage, with the Swiss side struggling in a difficult group.

Match preview

Chelsea are in pole position in Group A after collecting seven points from their three group games, and a win on Thursday would edge them closer to the knockout stages.

They thumped Servette 7-0 last week, with six of those goals coming before half time in what was a dominant performance.

Fran Kirby and Sam Kerr both grabbed braces, with Melanie Leupolz, Jessie Fleming and Guro Reiten also getting on the scoresheet.

That commanding display was followed by another one on Sunday when Chelsea thrashed Manchester City 4-0 in the Women's Super League.

Fleming gave the WSL champions the lead after just two minutes, before Kirby doubled their advantage before the break, and an impressive performance was completed in the second half with goals from Kirby and Magdalena Eriksson ensuring Chelsea made it six successive victories in all competitions.

Servette have found it tough going in Group A, with the Swiss outfit struggling to compete with sides who have aspirations of going deep into the competition.

The Swiss champions responded to the demoralising defeat against Chelsea with a superb result at the weekend as they swept aside Basel.

A Sandy Maendly brace and a goal from Natalia Padilla guided Servette to a 3-0 victory, which helped them keep pace with league leaders FC Zurich.

Eric Severac's side will be fearful of another thrashing on Thursday, but they can take confidence from five victories in their last six competitive away fixtures.

Although, the concern for Servette will be that their only away fixture in Group A resulted in a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Wolfsburg, and Severac will be fearful of a similar scoreline against Chelsea.

Team News

Pernille Harder and Aniek Nouwen are not expected to be risked for Thursday's game with the pair suffering with injury issues.

Meanwile, Kerr extended her contract to 2024 on Tuesday, and the Australian forward will be looking to continue her fine goalscoring run having scored three goals in her last two appearances.

Fleming has impressed after starting the last three games, with the Canadian scoring in all three of those fixtures, and she will be looking to add to that tally on Thursday.

Servette will be hoping Padilla's recent league form can be transferred into the Champions League, with the Polish international scoring three goals in her last two league appearances.

Maendly came on at half time against Chelsea, but after starting and scoring a brace at the weekend, she is expected to feature on Thursday.

Chelsea Women possible starting lineup:
Musovic; Bright, Carter, Eriksson; Cuthbert, Leupolz, Spence, Reiten; Kirby, Fleming, Kerr

Servette Chenois possible starting lineup:
Pereira; Soulard, Hurni, Spalti, Fleury; Tufo, Nakkach, Maendly; Padilla, Lagonia, Jade

We say: Chelsea Women 5-0 Servette Chenois

Chelsea are in red hot form and we think that they will dish out another thrashing on Thursday as they look to cement their place at the top of Group A.
