Zlatan Ibrahimovic is sent off in the first half of the Champions League match between Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.

Paris Saint-Germain were reduced to 10 men in the first half of their second-leg Champions League tie against Chelsea this evening after Zlatan Ibrahimovic was sent off at Stamford Bridge.

Half-Time Report: Ibrahimovic sent off in goalless first half

The visitors had the majority of the early possession, knowing that they need at least one goal to stand a chance of progressing, but John Terry was on hand to deny Edinson Cavani an opportunity inside the opening five minutes.

Marco Verratti wanted a penalty when he appeared to go down under a challenge from Ramires, but the referee was not interested in his appeal.

With 20 minutes gone, Chelsea started to show more intent going forward, but Ramires was unable to find Eden Hazard with a flick-on, while Oscar was flagged offside as Diego Costa tried to play the ball back in a few minutes later.

PSG's hopes were dealt a blow with just over half an hour played as Ibrahimovic mistimed a tackle, going in studs up on Oscar to force a red card from the referee, resulting in some pushing and shoving between the two sides.

In a heated spell before the break, Terry was needed to turn the ball away as Maxwell floated in a dangerous-looking cross for the visitors, while Oscar forced the first save of the night with a curling effort from the edge of the box down the other end.

Costa wanted a spot kick just before the break when he appeared to be dragged down by Cavani, but the referee was not interested, infuriating the striker.
