Sports Mole

Good evening and welcome to Sports Mole's live commentary of tonight's Champions League Group E clash between FC Nordsjaelland and Chelsea in Koebenhavn.

The Danish outfit lost their first match of the campaign away to Shakhtar Donetsk two weeks ago, but they have identified their home matches as the basis for their aim to reach the second phase.

Tonight will be their first competitive clash against English opposition and while this is their first Champions League appearance, they have previously played in the Europa League.

Meanwhile, Chelsea recorded a 2-2 draw at home to Juventus on matchday one, but they failed to win any of their three away games in the Champions League group stages last season.

Please note that kickoff is at 7.45pm.

9.38pmIt was not as comfortable as the scoreline suggests, but the Blues exploded into life in the final 10 minutes. That's just about me for this evening, thanks for joining Sports Mole for the action and be sure to join us for more Champions League football tomorrow. Until then!

9.35pmSo there we have it. Chelsea make it six points from two matches in the Champions League with a 4-0 win over the Danish outfit.

FULL-TIMENordsjaelland 0-4 Chelsea

90 min+2Chelsea stroke the ball around in the final moments. It has been such a strange match. But that is football at the highest level.

90 minMeanwhile, we will play an added three minutes at the end of the 90. It has never ever been a 4-0 match.

90 minRamires adds Chelsea's fourth as he taps an Oscar cross home from close range.

89 minGOAL! Nordsjaelland 0-4 Chelsea (Ramires)

87 minBit of a nothing match at the moment with Chelsea dominating possession in their own half. It's cruel on the home side.

85 minThe home side introduce Laudrup in replace of Lorentzen for the final moments of the match. His dad was supposed to be quite good or something.

83 minMeanwhile, Chelsea do indeed make their change as Mikel replaces Mata. This could be anything in the final 10 minutes.

82 minIt has never been a 3-0 game, but Mata scores his second from close range to add gloss to the scoreline.

82 minGOAL! Nordsjaelland 0-3 Chelsea (Mata)

81 minIt is so cruel on the home side, but that is football at the highest level. Meanwhile, John Obi Mikel will soon join us.

80 minChelsea have their second as Luiz rattles a wonderful free kick into the top corner.

79 minGOAL! Nordsjaelland 0-2 Chelsea (Luiz)

78 minMata takes it, but his effort smashes straight into the wall. That was poor from the Spaniard. Little over 10 minutes of normal time remaining.

77 minChance for Chelsea to extend their lead as Ramires is chopped fown by Stokholm outside the box. It appears that Lampard will take it.

75 minChange for the home side as Beckmann is replaced by Soren Christensen. They are well worth a goal here.

75 minHow good have Nordsjaelland been this evening? They look like a seasoned Champions League team. Really impressive stuff.

73 minCHANCE! Oh my word! So nearly an equaliser for the home side as John strikes from outside the box, but he smashes the crossbar.

71 minRoberto di Matteo does not look happy on the sideline as he barks out his orders. The home side are still a threat make no mistake about that.

69 minThe match has just settled into a quiet period with both sides enjoying spells of possession. You just get the feeling that are a couple of big chances to come.

67 minStill Nordsjaelland press Chelsea in their own half. It has been such an impressive performance from the Danish club. But they need that goal. Little over 20 minutes of normal time to play.

65 minChance! So nearly an equaliser ss Parkhurst finds Beckmann outside the box, but he fires wide. Meanwhile, change for the home side as Nordstrand is replaced by Ticinovic. Also a change for Chelsea as Eden Hazard replaces Moses.

63 minConstant pressure from the home side at the moment with Nordstrand seeing plenty of the ball. Make no mistake about it, they are the team on the front-foot here.

61 minChance! So nearly an equaliser for the home side as Okore finds Beckmann, but the striker heads over from close range.

59 minMoses is not getting much change out of Parkhurst at the moment with the full-back defending to good effect. Meanwhile, the home side continue to threaten on the counter.

57 minNordsjaelland have returned to their first half policy of pressing Chelsea, but you just get the feeling that they will struggle as the match wares on.

55 minChelsea have the ball in the back of the net as Moses slots past Hansen. However, the whistle blew for a foul on Okore.

54 minChance! Suddenly John springs into life outside the box, but his effort is just wide of the post. I think he listened to me.

52 minChelsea have just started to take control of this second period with a spell of possession. But the home side are now a threat on the counter. They just need that final pass.

50 minAnother half-chance for Torres as Oscar spots the run of the Spaniard, but Hansen comes out to clear the danger. The striker is a real threat.

48 minMy word the home side do take some chances at the back. Hansen tries to play some football with Runje inside his own box. Surely it just goes out there! That could end up costing them.

46 minHere we go then. Nordsjaelland kick us off in the second period. Let's hope for some goals. The temperature has certainly dropped inside the ground!

8.44pmWe are moments away from the second period. Can the home side respond? The next goal is so crucial in this match.

8.41pmHALF-TIMES: Juventus 1-1 Shakhtar Donetsk, BATE 1-0 Bayern, Valencia 1-0 Lille, Benfica 0-1 Barcelona, Cluj 1-1 Manchester United, Galatasaray 0-1 Braga.

8.38pmLet's take a look at some statistics from the opening half. Nordsjaelland have dominated possession with 54%. Meanwhile, both sides have had three attempts at goal.

8.35pmChelsea certainly started the evening the better, but the home side improved as the half developed and had chances of their own to open the scoring.

8.32pmSo there we have it. Chelsea lead 1-0 at the break courtesy of a strike from Mata after 33 minutes. Although it has not been as comfortable as expected.

HALF-TIMENordsjaelland 0-1 Chelsea

45 minMeanwhile, we will play one added minute at the end of the half.

45 minChance! So nearly a second for Chelsea as Oscar finds Torres in the box, but his effort is straight at the goalkeeper.

44 minBright end to the half from Nordsjaelland as John picks up possession before driving into the Chelsea box, but his final ball is just lacking.

42 minChelsea have possession of the ball as we approach the break. However, they appear intent on holding what they have at the moment.

40 minHalf-chance for the home side as Stokholm searches out Beckmann in the box, but Luiz clears the danger. They are ending the half well here.

38 minSuddenly it's all Chelsea as Oscar and Mata combine around the box, but Okore just manages to clear the danger. It's one-way traffic at the moment.

36 minAnother half-chance for Chelsea as Torres advances into the opposing area, but he is just crowded out at the vital moment.

34 minIt is a bitter blow for the home side following their good start. That goal has changed the entire feel of this match.

33 minChelsea have the lead here as Juan Mata meets a Lampard cross before finishing from inside the box.

33 minGOAL! Nordsjaelland 0-1 Chelsea (Mata)

32 minTorres has clearly been identified as Chelsea's biggest threat with Okore sticking to the Spanish striker. They are going toe-to-toe with the Blues here.

30 minOpportunity for Chelsea as Oscar finds the run of Ivanovic down the right, but the danger is cleared for a corner, which is also cleared.

28 minBit of a scrappy match at the moment with both teams losing possession in midfield. This is just the kind of match the home side will have hoped for. Impressive stuff.

26 minNordsjaelland are just refusing to allow Chelsea any time on the ball at the moment. They are playing at such a high tempo. But can the Danes keep it up for 90 minutes?

24 minSuddenly Chelsea spring into life as Lampard finds the run of Torres, but the striker's effort is pushed away by Hansen. End-to-end stuff at the moment.

22 minAnother half-chance for the home side as Lorentzen meets a Adu cross in the box, but Ashley Cole just makes the clearance at the vital moment.

20 minThe home side are now shading the possession. They started showly, but they are very much in the game now. But Chelsea are just such a threat on the break.

18 minHalf-chance for the home side as Morten Nordstrand fires an effort from outside the box, but Cahill makes the clearance. Meanwhile, Cech comes to claim the resulting corner.

16 minSighter for the home side as John searches out the run of Mikkel Beckmann in the box, but David Luiz clears the danger. Better from the Danish outfit.

14 minIt's just all Chelsea at the moment as they continue to search out the run of Torres. The Spaniard is also available in behind. Nordsjaelland just need a spell with the ball.

12 minChance! Clearest opening of the match for Chelsea as Torres finds Lampard outside the box, but he fires his effort over the bar. Meanwhile, Okore has returned to the action.

10 minThe home side are just struggling for that final ball at the moment. Adu and Nicolai Stokholm are enjoying possession in midfield, but the final ball has been lacking. Meanwhile, they look edgy in defence.

8 minOkore appears to be having some stitches put in his open wound. It certainly looked a nasty one. Meanwhile, Chelsea have just started to dictate possession of the ball.

6 minHalf-chance for the away side as Torres finds Moses in the box, but Okore just clears the danger inside the box - hurting himself in the process.

4 minFirst hint of an attack from Chelsea as Gary Cahill plays a long ball towards Fernando Torres, the striker finds Oscar, but he fires his effort wide.

3 minCrowd of around 27,000 inside the stadium this evening. Meanwhile, it's a decent start from the home side as Enoch Adu wins a foul in midfield, but the danger is cleared.

1 minHere we go then. Chelsea get us underway as Frank Lampard enjoys an early touch of the ball. They will want to get an early goal in this one.

7.44pmHandshakes? Check. Flags exchanged? Check. We are almost ready for kickoff. Let's hope the match is a cracker.

7.41pmHere we go then. Both sets of players are just emerging from the tunnel on this mild night in Copenhagen. Can Nordsjaelland pull off one the biggest shocks in history?

7.38pmMeanwhile, here's a word from Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech on Sky Sports News: "We know that it's not going to be easy, but we have come for have three points."

7.35pmWe are not expecting a full house this evening. The home side usually get crowds of about 8,000. But they are playing in Denmark's national stadium in Copenhagen tonight.

7.32pmIt's also a big night for Victor Moses this evening. The youngster is certainly a talent, but he needs to prove that he belongs on this stage. The biggest of them all.

7.29pmRight, we are just about 15 minutes away from kick off. What time is it now? Yep, you guessed it. Prediction time. I just cannot see a way how Chelsea lose this match. I'm going for a 3-0 win for the Blues.

7.26pmHere's a word from the home side's boss Kasper Hjulmand: "We are massive underdogs. It is against the defending champions, they are number one in the Premier League and extremely good and hard to score agains. They are one of the best teams in the world and it's a huge test for us," he told reporters.

7.23pmFormer Denmark goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel has admitted on Sky Sports that Nordsjaelland winning the Danish league last season was a big shock. He compared it to Swansea City winning the Premier League. Wow.

7.20pmChelsea, meanwhile, have made a fantastic start to the Premier League campaign. They currently top the table with 16 points and enter the match fresh off the back of a 2-1 win over Arsenal at the weekend. Their style of play has certainly changed, but they are now getting the results to go with it.

7.17pmThe home side also boast Andreas Laudrup - youngest son of Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup. The youngster has been earning rave reviews this season but begins the match on the bench.

7.14pmTeams:

Nordsjaelland: Hansen; Parkhurst, Okore, Runje, Mtiliga; Adu, Stokholm, Lorentzen, Nordstrand; John, Beckmann

Chelsea: Cech; Ivanovic, Cahill, Luiz, Cole; Ramires, Lampard, Oscar; Moses, Mata, Torres

7.12pmNordsjaelland: Hansen; Parkhurst, Okore, Runje, Mtiliga; Adu, Stokholm, Lorentzen, Nordstrand; John, Beckmann

7.09pmMeanwhile, Joshua John should be given the role of providing the attacking threat for the home side. The pacey forward is a Netherlands Under-21 international and has scored seven goals in seven games this season.

7.06pmTaking a look at the home side for a moment. Undoubtedly their star man is Danish centre-back Jores Okore. The 20-year-old is regarded as one of the best young defenders in world football and will be given the job of shackling Fernando Torres.

7.03pmTonight's match also takes on added importance for Chelsea as they attempt to negotiate their way out of a tough group. Current Serie A champions Juventus are expected to advance, but the ever-improving Shakhtar Donetsk also harbour real hopes of making the next round.

7pmChelsea, meanwhile, have faced Danish opposition twice before. They overcame Copenhagen with an aggregate score of 2-0 in the round of 16 stage two years ago. They also enter the match having scored in each of their last 15 Champions League matches - some record.

6.57pmWe will bring you the home team news as soon as it filters through. Incredibly, Nordsjaelland are just 21 years old having been founded on January 1 1991. The fact they are now playing in the biggest competition in world football is credit to those who run the club. What a story that is!

6.54pmTeams:

Chelsea: Cech; Ivanovic, Cahill, Luiz, Cole; Ramires, Lampard, Oscar; Moses, Mata, Torres

Nordsjaelland: To follow

6.51pmTEAM NEWS: John Terry is on the bench for Chelsea this evening. But Oscar, Fernando Torres and Juan Mata all start. Full teams to follow.

6.48pmThe team news is expected in the next two minutes or so. Early suggestions are that Frank Lampard will start for the Blues. Meanwhile, Victor Moses could also be handed his Champions League debut for the club. We will bring you the ins and outs as soon as possible.

6.45pmGood evening all! The Champions League fixtures are back and tonight Chelsea face a tough trip to Denmark. They will be hopeful that overcoming the opposition is easier than spelling it. That's for certain.
