Cesc Fabregas has played down Chelsea's Champions League credentials, insisting that it is too early to tout them for European glory this season.
Jose Mourinho's side thumped Schalke 5-0 in Germany tonight to progress into the last-16 stage of the competition as Group G winners.
The win also extended the Blues' unbeaten run this season to 19 games in all competitions, but Fabregas, who is yet to win the tournament, erred on the side of caution when asked how far they could reach.
"I don't want to speak about [winning the Champions League]," he told UEFA.com. "Let's take it game by game and see what happens at the end.
"The most important thing is that we did our job today, getting first place in the group, so we can relax in the last game."
Chelsea conclude the group stages by welcoming Sporting Lisbon to Stamford Bridge next month.
