Chelsea winger Florent Malouda is eyeing a start in the Champions League final after spending much of the season watching from the sidelines.
The Frenchman has not been a regular at Stamford Bridge this campaign and has often had to settle for a place among the substitutes.
However, with suspensions disrupting Roberto Di Matteo's usual lineup for their May 19 meeting with Bayern Munich, Malouda is hoping that he can find his way back into the Blues starting XI in time for the match at the Allianz Arena.
"I don't accept being a sub. I would never accept it otherwise it would be time for me to retire. It has been a hard season for me but things can change very quickly here," said Malouda.
"Last year I was the club's top scorer and this year I started the season as a substitute and less playing time.
"This year I experienced quarter-finals from the stands, a semi-final on the bench, which is the first time for me. I want to play in finals and win them."
The 31-year-old has made just 18 starts in all competitions for Chelsea this season.
