Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has claimed that the injury John Terry sustained at Maccabi Tel Aviv on Tuesday evening was the result of a "dangerous pitch".
The Blues skipper was substituted with an ankle strain after 72 minutes during his side's 4-0 win over the Israeli outfit.
"The surface was bad and dangerous," BBC Sport quotes Mourinho as saying. "For John to leave the pitch with the score at 1-0, I know already that he is in trouble."
Terry will undergo a scan to establish the extent of the injury, but Mourinho has admitted that his captain is unlikely to be fit for this weekend's meeting with Tottenham Hotspur.
