Chelsea's Champions League destiny is now in their own hands, according to manager Jose Mourinho.
A Nemanja Matic goal was enough for the Blues to take all three points away at Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday night, with Slovenian side Maribor next up for the London club.
"Now we can control our destiny," Mourinho told Sky Sports News. "Now we play two matches against Maribor but [we must pay] attention, because Maribor has two points. They didn't lose in Germany [and] they didn't lose against Sporting so Maribor is a team that we must have [pay] attention [to].
"But the reality is we now play at Stamford Bridge. If we manage to beat them, [we have] seven points, and seven points is not enough but it gives us some stability."
Mourinho praised the performance of Nemanja Matic in Lisbon, calling the Serbian midfielder a monster.
